Taking time...

Life has been slow for the past few days and it has been really nice. In the past week, I have had a few episodes with my heart and my asthma has been making it a bit harder to breathe. I guess being no nervous about my heart acting up, I have been feeling a bit sick to my stomache as well. I am feeling better today, the first time I have been out of the house in a few days.

I am looking forward to getting my strength back and taking Sadie out if it is still nice out this weekend.

On the other hand, it has been nice to hang out in my new housecoat and not worry about braving the cold.

Taking it in stride...

I took Sadie to the doctor today. If you have ever seen Sadie run, or in the summer with no clothes on her legs, you might notice that her legs are bow legged. When Sadie was in my belly, she curled up, and even after she was born, being so tiny, she curled up in the stomache part of her sleepers, almost cross legged. Her legs have not straightened even though she has been standing since she has been 9 months old. Today, I spoke to her doctor for the second time and she is putting in a referral for Sadie to see a specialist at the Children's Hospital. I am not sure when the appoinment will be, but I am hoping soon. Although her range of motion is great, Sadie runs wiggling her hips, rather than bending her knees, so I am hoping we can help her overcome this. It was a great visit though, Dr. Lage and the office staff enjoy her "happy" personality and keep asking when Lucas and I are going to have more. That's another topic for another day!

This just might work...

So, as most of my friends/family knows, one of my hobbies outside of the house is to go to the gym. I feel so much better after going, not just physically, but emotionally as well. With the cold weather and my working almost every weeknight, I have rarely had the opportunity to go to the gym. But wait! I have found a solution!

We have a bike that I don't like and so tonight, I am in the midst of making a trade. I am hoping that I will be able to have an elliptical instead, as this was my passion when I went to the Y. It was amazing how easy it was to take an hour to myself , throw on my headphones and "run." I did this at least 4 times a week, sometimes up to 6. My cardiologist was impressed and I have my yearly exam in September and want to show how much work I can do this up coming year but not only getting my heart stronger, but losing a few unwanted pounds as well.

When I am working during the week, I usually get home at 10:30 at night. This is usually the only time I have to myself during my whole day. It will be the perfect time to have a workout and maybe...just maybe get to bed before 1. This way, I will avoid the mad rush of people who begin going to the gym after the new year begins.

I think this just might work...

Time with friends...

This past holiday I realized just how busy my life can be. Although I had many evenings with family, none of my gatherings included my friends. As much as I love sitting down on the phone and chatting with a friend, or getting together for coffee and making cards and such, it is clear to me that I just don't have a lot of time to do that these days. I hope to see all of my friends a little more this year because in the grand scheme of things, I do miss having that time out and it could probably do me some good.

Cheers to the New Year..I hope good things come to all of you
